TV Junkie: Leno Back Tonight; PaleyFest2010 In Full Effect
We are already suffering from Olympics withdrawal but we will forge ahead and catch up on as much TV as we can - look for our Olympics summary tomorrow. Today, check out our fan video (above) of The Roots playing Olympic Plaza last Thursday - hopefully Jimmy Fallon will show some of that great show tonight at 12:35am since he was there to get the crowd pumped up before they went on.
Tonight the big news, other than "The Bachelor" finale, is Jay Leno's return to "The Tonight Show", which NBC is calling a "series return". While we won't be watching, as we don't think NBC should receive any support for their mishandling of this debacle over the past year and a half, it's interesting to see who Leno lined up as guests for his show relaunch. Similarly to George W. Bush's constant appeals to his "base", Leno is doing the same thing and their "bases" are remarkably similar - if you ever wondered about Leno's political leanings, wonder no more. The keynote guest for tomorrow evening is (how much was she paid this time?) Sarah Palin.
Also, tonight on IFC, the nominees for this Friday's broadcast of "The Independent Film Spirit Awards" will be broadcast at 9:30pm. We will be covering the awards this Friday so look for posts from us about that event. In other awards news, this morning the nominees for this year's Streamys were appropriately streamed live at 9:30am.
A reminder to everyone that the incredible PaleyFest2010 started last week and continues for the next 2 weeks. Tickets are still available for this weeks events which include panels of creators and actors from "NCIS", "Community", "Dexter", "Cougar Town", and "The Vampire Diaries".
The TV Junkie Plan: @aots, "La La Land", "Secret Diary of a Call Girl", "24", "Damages", "Chelsea Lately" (Chris Hardwick), Letterman (Bill Murray), Fallon (Robert Pattinson and Judah Friedlander)
