The sour economy is hitting NBC which announced layoffs in its ad sales and news departments. This is on top of reports from CNN that the news broadcaster will be cutting personnel from their environment, science and technology bureaus - because, really, why would we want to report on that? No word on whether they will be cutting staff at their celebrity stalking bureau.

So these organizations have been able to function for the entire first year of the recession (which wasn't official until last week) but they have to cut people to keep moving forward for the next few to several months? Do they have corporate jets they could unload?In this information and service economy, people and their relationships are the assets, not hardware and property [End Diatribe].
