Suspect Arrested For Stealing Roof Of Paul Walker's Wrecked Porsche
An 18-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a part of Paul Walker's wrecked Porsche. Jameson Witty, a Tujunga resident, reportedly stole the roof panel of the late Fast & Furious actor's red Porsche Carrera GT as it was being towed away on a flat-bed truck at 10 p.m. on Nov. 30 from Santa Clarita, according to CBS Los Angeles .
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department believed Witty and another man had swiped the car part when the tow truck was at a red light, and drove off with it.
Witty was arrested Thursday morning for suspicion of tampering with evidence and grand felony theft, according to CBS Los Angeles. The stolen rooftop panel was recovered when detectives used a search warrant to find it in a Canyon County home. Witty's bail is set at $20,000.
The other suspect has been identified and is making arrangements to turn himself in to the police, reported CNN .
Walker and his friend Roger Rodas were leaving a charity event on Nov. 30 when they crashed the car into a pole , setting the car on fire. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash.
