Stacey Dash's Transgender Bathroom Solution: 'Go In The Bushes'
Stacey Dash is one of those people that should just stop talking in public. But, since she apparently won't, here's the latest idiotic thing she said to cement her role in Ultimate Troll History. A lot of people are currently embroiled in a heated debate about where human beings should go to the bathroom—specifically, where transgender people should go to the bathroom. They'd like to use the restroom that matches their gender identity, and others are determined to stop them.
Dash, best known for her role as Dionne in Clueless and saying we should get rid of BET and Black History Month, has a solution, which she revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight while promoting her upcoming memoir, There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative. Transgender folks should "go in the bushes."
"I don't know what to tell you," she blathered on, "but I'm not gonna put my child's life at risk because you want to change a law so that you can be comfortable with your beliefs, which means I have to change my beliefs and rights. No."
Yeah. She thinks transgender people should just squat down in a bush whenever they need to go, while I suppose cis folks should be afforded the dignity of indoor plumbing and privacy. I guess when Dash's kid says, "Mommy, why is there a person pooping in a bush?" she can proudly say, "For your safety."
She continued by saying that gender identity is a choice, and hopes to launch some malarkey called "Dash America" which will attempt to rebrand feminism to be more like Mad Men days, when "men were men." Mad Men...is that the show where the protagonist aggressively fingerbangs a female rival to prove a point? Or wait, is that the show where he tells a female client he "won't let a woman talk to him like this"?
When it comes to facts over fear-mongering, there are a total of zero instances in which a transgender individual has assaulted anyone, adult or child, in a restroom. In South Carolina, a state in which a lawmaker proposed banning trans people from using the restroom that matches their gender identity, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said that such a bill would be "unnecessary and unenforceable," according to WIS. Lott wrote in a letter to legislators that in his 41 years on the force, "I have never heard of a transgender person attacking or otherwise bothering someone in a restroom. This is a non-issue."
The fact is, we're probably already sharing our restrooms with transgender people and haven't noticed. So, basically, all this fuss over impossible-to-enforce laws is because of a hypothetical predator who may decide who pretend to be transgender to enter a restroom and abuse children. Never mind, of course, all the predators who prey on adults, teens and children of their same gender who are already using public bathrooms.
Dash also accused Lady Gaga of promoting a liberal agenda, and criticized Leonardo DiCaprio's interest in bringing awareness to climate change, calling him "chicken little."
For her commitment to trolling, I present Ms. Stacey Dash with this popular and widely shared Internet meme.
