On Saturday March 6th, 2010, at the Saban Theatre, the Paley Center for Media's PaleyFest2010 held its "Vampire Diaries" night to honor the series from the CW. We managed to get a few words in with Paul Wesley aka Stefan Salvatore, and Nina Dobrev aka Elena Gilbert & Katherine Pierce. Fans had been lining up to spend most of the day in rain showers as they waited for the show to start at 7pm.

Series producers Bob Levy, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson were also on hand to help answer questions from fans about how the show was created as well as plans for the scheduled second season. Between them all there were several humorous anecdotes about the producers' brainstorming sessions at IHOP and conspiratorial plans between Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder to abandon Nina Dobrev at the airport when she brought too many suitcases of clothing. There was definitely a younger crowd at this PaleyFest evening which was refreshing and led credence to the alleged star power of the young cast.
