Classical Pick of the Week: Quartet San Francisco

We need to hear from you.
Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

Well known for their masterful tango bowing and plucking skills, Quartet San Francisco will be making their Los Angeles entrada this Friday at Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz, a non-profit theatre run by Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, a bilingual school that has seen actresses such as Jodie Foster, Claire Danes, Shannon Doherty and others pass through.

The school's Theatre, which has a regular season that begins this Friday, is dedicated to French and international cultures. No better a choice for Quartet San Francisco to begin the multicultural season as their recently released album, “Whirled Chamber Music,” features blues, funk, jazz, tango, and rock. Their previous album, the Tango-based “Látigo,” earned them two Grammy nominations earlier this year.
