Post Secret Creator Book Signing Tonight at Vroman's

This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

The premise was simple: start a blog, let people know that if they sent a postcard to a specific address with their secret it might get posted on the site.

The rules were clear: make a 4 x 6 postcard, be brief, be legible, be creative - let the postcard be your canvas.

The results were amazing: PostSecret.blogspot.com became one of the most popular blogs of all time, currently in the Top 10 of 54 million blogs. And people poured their hearts out in some very touching, sad, troubling, and beautiful secrets. Last Christmas they created a book of some of the best postcards and this winter it looks like there's another coming out.

Tonight get a chance to meet Frank Warren, the genius behind it all at Vroman's in Pasadena. Get your book signed, and know that the profits for the books go to a suicide hotline charity.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
