For those of you who love singing and dancing and joy, there's good news out of Universal's presentation at CinemaCon today: The studio is planning a sequel to "Pitch Perfect," to be released sometime in 2015.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Kay Cannon will be penning the sequel. Cannon wrote the screenplay for the original movie, too. She's also known for her writing on "30 Rock" and "New Girl."

According to EW, the movie is a natural fit for a sequel, since the first iteration earned $112 million worldwide, as well as over $90 million in home markets.

This news might also explain why Anna Kendrick dropped a music video for "Cups" -- the song she sang in the movie -- a few days ago, and why Rebel Wilson performed with members of the "Pitch Perfect" cast at the MTV Movie Awards.
