FILM: The ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood is screening a restored and digitally remastered 35mm print of The Godfatherand The Godfather: Part II until September 25. Tonight Part I screens at 7:30 pm and Part II screens at 11:15 pm.

STORYTELLING*: The Moth LA GrandSLAM takes place tonight at 8 pm at King King. For $12, get entertained by finalists who’ve honed their five-minute storytelling skills. Tonight’s theme: “Crossing the Line.” Tonight’s host is Rob Huebel and guest judges are Molly Ringwald, Seth Morris, Christie Smith and Brian Finkelstein.

TECH: Tonight the Mixergy Forum focuses on tips for growing your websites using viral marketing. Guest speakers are: Neil Patel, partner at ACS, who helped TechCrunch grow its traffic; Jason Nazar, CEO of docstoc; and Chris Bechtel, VP of iPressRoom. The forum starts at 7 pm at Magicopolis in Santa Monica, and costs $25.

POETRY: The 2nd Annual Poetry Society of America's Festival of California Poets concludes tonight with LA-area poets reading their work at the Hammer Museum @ 7 pm. On the schedule tonight: Ralph Angel (winner of the PEN Center USA Award for Poetry for Exceptions and Melancholies: Poems 1986-2006), Wanda Coleman (winner of the Lenore Marshall Prize and author of the National Book Award finalist Mercurochrome), Maggie Nelson (author of Something Bright, Then Holes and the PEN/Martha Albrand Award finalist Jane: A Murder) and Charles Harper Webb (winner of the Kate Tufts Discovery Prize and a Whiting Writers Award).

INDIE FILM: The Echo Park Film Center hosts the Filmmaker's Alliance screening tonight at 7:30 pm. Come see the works of independent filmmakers with a DIY attitude. There's a Q&A after each film with the creators and food and drinks to boot. The Filmmaker's Alliance is a community of film artists dedicated to the advancement of true independent film through community action.
