ART TALK: MOCA’s The Geffen Contemporary hosts artists David Lamelaswho’ll discuss his work in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition Index: Conceptualism in California and the Permanent Collection. The talk begins at 6:30 pm.

READING*: "In the Flesh Reading Series: LA" happens at Hustler Hollywood tonight at 7:30 with some of LA's best journalists and authors titillating audiences with themed stories about love, sex and all things flesh-related. Tonight's is "Madonna Night" with writers Joanna Angel (Burning Angel), Adam Grayson (Tribune Interactive), Ernest Greene (Taboo), Maggie Marr (Secrets of the Hollywood Girls Club), Natalie Bovis Nelsen (The Liquid Muse) and Batsheva Vaknin.

COMEDY: The Human Giant comedy troupe brings along a few friends to their show tonight at Largo @ the Coronet Theatre. Guests include Mindy Kaling from The Office, Tom Lennon of Reno 911 and other surprises. LAist interviewed 2/3 of the troupe earlier this year. The show starts at 9 pm tonight.

FILM: The ArcLight's been celebrating Vegas all month long, and the Sherman Oaks ArcLight screens on of our favorites tonight at 7:30 pm: >Swingers. How much more money can you get?

SCREENING: The NewTeeVee Pier Screenings is a competition of how well online video survives the move from PC to the giant screen. Both content creators and TV watchers are welcome to attend the free event tonight at 7 pm at Catchlight Studios on La Brea. Prizes include: 320G external harddrives to the top three winners as voted by the live audience and a 1 terabyte harddrive and a free laptop engraving provided by Etchstar.

SOCIAL SCENE: Filter Magazine’s Sunset Series happens tonight from 6-10 pm at the Barker Block Downtown. There’s a wine tasting, DJ sets by DJ Pants Off and the K Bros. The scene’s free with RSVP to barkerblock@filtermmm.com.
