It's iPod night at Saints and Sinners -- if you dare. / Photo by Sundogg via LAist's featured photo pool.
FILM
Hank and Mike is billed as a dark comedy about two blue-collar Easter bunnies, who don’t have a lot going for them – except for their friendship. Cast and crew members will be on hand to discuss the film and answer questions after the sneak preview at UCLA. But best of all there’s an Easter Egg Hunt at the end of the night with great prizes. (Inside tip: Show up at 7 pm because the room tends to fill quickly.)
7:30 pm // James Bridges Theatre (Melnitz 1409) // UCLA // Free.
THEATRE*
Tonight the Ahmanson previews the musical Sweeney Todd, about a mad barber who serves up his revenge by making the tastiest meat pies in all of London. But here’s how this production is a little different: The cast doubles as the orchestra, many of them playing multiple instruments.
8 pm // Ahmanson Theatre // 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles. // $30-$75.
MORE FILM
What a feeling! The ArcLight is screening the blue-collar fairy tale Flashdance tonight. It’s a story of a woman welder by day and exotic dancer by night who dreams of going to dance school to be a real dancer. Jennifer Beals single-handedly started the off the shoulder sweater look and legwarmers for A LOT of women when it was first released in 1983.
7:30 pm // ArcLight Sherman Oaks // 15301 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks // $10-$11.50.
IPOD NIGHT
We hear that Saints and Sinners hold their iPod night tonight. If you think your music library rocks, then plug your iPod into the sound system. Hit shuffle. If the crowd boos, then your iPod gets the boot -- so ditch the Celine and Clay Aiken before you go.
10 pm // Saints and Sinners Lounge // 10899 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles // Cost o’drinks.
TALK
Wonder what this guy will pay in taxes this year? Charles T. Munger, vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is Warren Buffett's business partner and founding partner of the LA law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson. Munger will be in conversation at CalTech with Dr. Thomas A. Tombrello, chairman of the Division of Physics, Math and Astronomy.
8 pm // Beckman Auditorium // CalTech in Pasadena // Free.
