Lina Lecaro signs her new book tonight.
EM & Co presents the exhibit “Love You Too, Part 2” featuring the drawings of Los Angeles-based artist Vanessa Prager. The opening reception starts at 7 pm tonight and features a performance by the LA Contemporary Ensemble, tunes spun by DJ Willie Ovieda, with Special Guest DJ Chris Holmes, and cocktails and appetizers. Lina Lecaro, nightlife columnist for the LA Weekly, has explored many a watering hole throughout the LA environs. She’s written Los Angeles’ Best Dive Bars, and gives us a an “essential booze bible [that] has the lowdown on which bars serve free food, which have great—and not so great—karaoke, bars that appear in your favorite movies and much, much more.” Lecaro is doing a booksigning at La Luz de Jesus tonight from 6-9 pm. There’s a reception with free Sino Tequila along with other liquor and food. SCREENING
The quarterly FLUX Screening Series at the Hammer Museum begins tonight at 7 pm. The series features innovative short films and music videos from around the world. Tonight's program includes a mini-retrospective of the work by celebrated Swedish animator Jonas Odell, including his award-winning videos for Goldfrapp and Franz Ferdinand, and other works for Audio Bullys, Miike Snow, Massive Attack and How to Destroy Angels will also be featured.

The Architecture + Design Museum hosts cocktails and conversation with architect Stephan Jaklitsch as he discusses “several projects from his firm's first monograph as well as two new projects designed by his New York-based studio.” Domenica Stagno of the Gagosian Gallery will be moderating the lecture. 6:30-8:30 pm. Crewest, one of our favorite galleries Downtown, is celebrating the World Cup big time. Tonight during Art Walk (6-10:30 pm). World Cup @ Crewest is an exhibition that hopes to unite people together through their common love of a game and the arts. Exhibiting Artists: Allan Domingo, Nomade, Asylm, Isaias Crow, Else, Enik, Gera Lozano, Happy Friandise, Huit, Man One, Michael Pizarro, Sacred 194, Steve Talkowski, Travis Moore, Vyal, Werc, Lencho and more. They'll also be the only gallery in the Downtown Area who will open their doors for all to come in and watch select games for free.
