These Pants Are Designed To Make Sure Your Phone Never Dies
There's a company in L.A. now selling jeans designed to keep your phone charged all day long.In our modern world, it can be pretty stressful to have a low battery while you're out and about. I mean, how are you supposed to know if that person you swiped right on has invited you out for a drink yet, then Yelp a good happy hour, then call yourself a Lyft home if your battery is at 8 percent? Or, perhaps more practically, what if you're traveling? Luckily, L.A.-based an event Joe's Jeans has a solution. They've got a design that subtlety charges your phone while you wear them, Racked LA reports.
The #Hello line jeans look like an ordinary pair of skinny jeans, but feature a pocket in the waistband where you can slide a slim battery pack, which comes with an iPhone charging cable and a Micro USB for non-Apple phones. The phone then goes in a hidden side pocket—specifically designed with iPhones in mind, though able to fit other slim phones—and connects via the cable to the battery back. The battery has an LED light that allows you know when it, too, needs a charge. Welcome to the future.
The jeans are available in four colors. Jeans retail at $189 and the battery retails at $49. Hopefully we'll see a few similar options for men and ones tailored to phones other than iPhones, though we're not sure where you'd hide something like a Samsung Nexus 6.
