Mitt Romney's Awkward Meeting With Manny Pacquiao
Even if you don't following boxing, you probably heard about the brutal (and gif-ready) knockout punch Juan Manuel Marquez delivered to Manny Pacquiao at MGM’s Grand Garden Arena last night.
Speaking of dudes who never saw the knockout punch coming, former presidential candidate and La Jolla resident Mitt Romney showed up and introduced himself to Pacquiao before the fight in the most awkward and hilarious (and I suppose, honest) way possible: "Hi, Manny. I’m Mitt Romney. I ran for president. I lost."
He and Ann got front-row seats thanks to Bill Brady, the chairman of the Nevada Athletic Commission who worked for the Romney campaign. But he didn't feel like talking to the press:
The fight brought out a bizarre assortment of characters that demands a good punchline:
"Snooki, Mitt Romney, Metta World Peace and 50 Cent walk into a casino ..." That's all I've got so far.— Kieran Mulvaney (@kieranmulvaney) December 9, 2012
That punch looked rough, but Pacquiao's CT scan came back negative last night.
