LA Lakers defeat Houston Rockets 102-96. Without the services of Lamar Odom, the Lakers atoned for their ugly loss in Portland. Ron Artest got served by Kobe Bryant who scored 37 points; Artest scored only 11 points. Pau Gasol and Josh Powell got 20 points and 17 points respectively while the Lakers fought for this victory.

Anaheim Ducks defeat Vancouver Canucks 4-3 (OT). The Ducks need to win as many games as they can and came up big when they needed to stay within striking distance for the eighth spot. Scott Niedermeyer came up big in overtime with a wrist shot for the winning goal after the Ducks gave up the game tying goal late in the third period. With his goal in the first period Teemu Selanne is just one point shy of 1,200 in his career.
