LAst Night's Action: Kings Trick Hats in Colorado

LA Kings defeat Colorado Avalanche 6-4. Coming into the game the Kings had only scored one power-play goal. The Kings got two against the Avs by first-liners Anze Kopitar 11:15 in the first period and Dustin Brown 17:15 in the second period. Brad Richardson got his first career hat-trick with goals 4:58 in the second period, a short-handed goal 13:04 in the third and 17:05 in the third. Wayne Simmonds was given a five-minute major penalty and a ten-minute game misconduct 8:40 in the third period for butt-ending TJ Galiardi. Strange, strange game, but the Kings got the win.

Detroit Red Wings defeat Anaheim Ducks 5-4. It was a heartbreaker. Just as the Ducks were ready to let the game go to overtime, Pavel Datsyuk and the Red Wings had other things in mind. With 12 seconds left to go Datsyuk went top shelf from the left faceoff circle to put it past Ducks’ goalie Curtis McElhinney.

Chicago Fire defeat Chivas USA 4-1.
