Nashville Predators defeat LA Kings 4-3. The Kings fell late in the third period when the Predators Ryan Jones scored a goal with 2:18 remaining. With a power play and the goalie pulled, the Kings could not pull out a goal. With 13 games left, the Kings are now six points away from a playoff spot. The chances are now very slim, but the Kings cannot afford another regulation loss if they want to make it to the postseason.
Notable Notes
- Now that Terrell Owens has left Dallas, the soap opera of the NFL is now set in Denver. Jay Cutler doesn't trust head coach Josh McDaniels and now is demanding a trade.
- Oh Julian Tavarez. Who knew you would give the world the best soundbite so far in 2009? "Why did I sign with the Nationals?" Tavarez said told a group of reporters. "When you go to a club at 4 in the morning, and you're just waiting, waiting, a 600-pounder looks like J. Lo. And to me this is Jennifer Lopez right here. It's 4 in the morning. Too much to drink. So, Nationals: Jennifer Lopez to me."
- I don't know how alarmed Dodgers fan should be but Manny's out for a week with a sore hammy. Uh oh.
