LA Dodgers defeat Colorado Rockies 7-1. What better way to come out of a hitting slump than to play against the worst team in the NL West? Casey Blake came through with the bases loaded in the fifth inning hitting his second double off of Rockies starter Aaron Cook clearing the bases giving the Dodgers a 4-0 lead. Although Dodgers starter Eric Milton gave one run back in the bottom of that frame, he pitched just well enough to get his first win since August 8, 2006 when he played for the Cincinnati Reds. Juan Pierre had just another normal outing for him, a 3-for-5 day scoring twice and driving two home. Orlando Hudson went 2-for-3 extending his hitting streak to a career-high 16 games. The Dodgers will bring the brooms out and go for the sweep today.

Chicago White Sox defeat LA Angels 4-2. The White Sox love playing in Anaheim. With this win the White Sox have now won 13 of their last 18 games played in Angels Stadium. The White Sox threw 2005 Cy Young winner for the Angels Bartolo Colon on the mound to face his former team. Colon went 6 2/3 innings giving up one run on four hits with three strikeouts. No longer the power pitcher he used to be, Colon used his sinker to get most of his outs. The one run Colon gave up was Bobby Abreu's solo shot in the seventh, his first of the season. On Sunday I muttered out loud whom Abreu had to pay off in order to get his first homer after a ball he hit to dead centerfield at Dodger Stadium came within inches of going out. Well he finally got it. Torii Hunter's solo shot in the bottom of the ninth made things more respectable, but the Angels offense couldn't get anything going. Joe Saunders went 6 2/3 giving up three runs on seven hits. At least he didn't give up 17 like the Angels did Monday night.
