LA Angels defeat Boston Red Sox 9-2. All the Manny Ramirez bull aside, the Angels annihilated the Red Sox in this series. Josh Beckett getting the start for the Red Sox didn't phase Angels hitter any. In 5 1/3 innings the Angels got seven runs off of Beckett on 11 hits. And they did it all with newly acquired Mark Teixeira going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts batting third in the lineup. Make this eight straight games the Angels have defeated the Red Sox, and the second consecutive series the Angels have taken from the Sox.

LA Dodgers defeat San Francisco 4-0. Another game, another shutout for the Dodgers. Make that 10 shutouts for the season and four in the last five games for the Blue Crew. Chad Billingsley pitched his first complete game shutout of his career giving up only five hits. The Dodgers got struggling Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez out of the game after only four innings getting four runs off of five hits. The Giants went 23 consecutive innings without scoring a run. Although that looked to be broken in the ninth inning when with two outs and Jose Castillo on second, Randy Winn hit a single to left field. Castillo came hustling home and was thrown out on a laser delivered by Andre Ethier.
