Notable Notes
- This weekend the AVP tour comes back to where it all started. The AVP Crocs Slam Bud Light Manhattan Beach Open begins this weekend with an unprecedented 64-team draw. Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers are looking to be the first team to four-peat in 25 years. On the ladies side a new women's team will be crowned for the first time since 2004 with Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh sitting out. Also competing in the Open is Jesse Rambis, son of Lakers assistant coach Kurt Rambis. He and partner Mark Williams are the 17th seed of the Open. KTLA 5 will be broadcasting the men's and women's finals live Sunday from 3pm - 6pm. With the weather looking to be a scorcher this weekend, this will probably be a nice alternative.
- How much do you think Lou Gehrig's game-worn hat costs? SCP Auctions purchased the hat for $74,750 on behalf of a Yankee memorabilia collector at an auction at the MLB All Star Fan Fest. SCP Auction is currently having their own auction through July 23. Included is a heavily used Magic Johnson autographed home jersey and a piece of the floor from the Forum autographed by Wilt Chamberlain. Definitely some interesting stuff to go through.
