LA Angels leads Texas Rangers 2-0. Ervin Santana (W, 17-9) tossed his fourth complete game and first shutout this season as he surpassed his career high in wins blanking the AL West leading Rangers. Hank Conger got things started for the Angels’ offense in the second inning with a leadoff triple and scored on Kevin Frandsen’s groundout. Hideki Matsui added another run in the fourth inning after leading off with a double, advancing to third on Mike Napoli’s fly ball to right field and Conger’s grounder.

NOTABLE NOTES

Colorado to Pac-10 in 2011 After it was announced that the University of Colorado would be moving to the Pac-10, it was never determined exactly when that transition would take place even though Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott estimated that it would take place in 2012. Well it turns out that Colorado and the Big 12 have agreed that Colorado will have $6.863 million of their conference revenue withheld to move to the now Pac-12 on June 30, 2011. The Buffalos and the University of Utah will now join the Pac-12 at the same time alleviating the problem of having both conferences having to play with 11 teams for one season. The University of Nebraska will be joining the Big Ten Conference on the same date.

"We are very excited that Colorado will be joining the Conference in 2011," Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott said in a press release. "Our plans all along were for them to join the Conference in 2012, so this puts the Pac-12 ahead of schedule, which is great news. With Colorado and Utah coming on board next year we are tremendously excited about the future of the Conference."
