LA Angels defeats Texas Rangers 7-5. The Angels were in an awfully similar situation Thursday night as they were Wednesday night. Angel's starter Jon Garland gave up a four-spot to the Rangers in the first inning. Unlike Joe Saunders the previous night, Garland would stay in the game for eight innings an shut down the Rangers for the remainder of the game with the exception for a run in the fourth inning. Down 5-3 in the eighth inning, the Angels loaded the basepads. Pinch hitter Juan Rivera came up to the plate and drove a ball way out to the right centerfield wall for a go-ahead three-run double. Francisco Rodriguez would get this 51st save while the Angel's magic number goes down to 13.
