LA Lakers defeat Boston Celtics 92-83. Like I said the other day, I really think the Lakers have been messing with us. After weeks of lackluster play, the Lakers won convincingly in New Orleans just in time for the game of the season against the Celtics. And boy did the Lakers come out to play. They played staunch defense which helped them close out the game on an 11-2 run and overpowered the Celtics. Yes. The finesse soft Lakers punched the tough Celtics in the mouth.

Both teams were very evenly matched however the Lakers shot better behind the arc and won the turnover battle by seven. But the play that best highlighted the game came in the second quarter when Kobe batted a defensive rebound down the floor which was saved by Trevor Ariza who batted it to Sasha Vujacic who layed it in and got the foul. However I can't say that the Lakers out-hustled the Celtics by any stretch of the imagination. There were too many alley-oops from Rajan Rondo to Kevin Garnett.

This game came down to who would make the plays in the final minutes of the game. And with Pau Gasol's blocks and toughness, he insured the Lakers would come out with the victory.
