LA Dodgers (10-13) defeats Colorado Rockies (10-13) 8-7 (13). Third baseman Russell Martin seems to have come out of his early season slump. He went 4-4 with three singles, a double, two walks and that crucial game-winning sacrifice fly in the 13th with the bases loaded. And you read right. In the ninth inning Nomar Garciaparra pulled his calf muscle attempting to dive for a double down the left field line by Scott Podsednik. After the game manager Joe Torre said that Nomar would likely go on the DL thereby bringing Blake DeWitt back up from AAA after being sent down Thursday night (I'm assuming). Andruw Jones also left the game in the fifth inning after fouling a ball of his leg. He got a bruise so that should sit him down for a couple of days.

LA Angels (15-9) over Detroit Tigers (10-14) 4-3. Angel's Ervin Santana (4-0) went 6 1/3 strong innings giving up three runs on six hits for his first victory in Comerica Park. The key inning was the fourth when the Angels batted around the order getting a two-run homer by Vladamir Guerrero and a two-run single by Casey Kotchman.
