LA Galaxy tie Houston Dynamo 2-2. This is the first professional soccer match I have attended, and it was a ton of fun. Landon Donavan made a spectacular diving header goal in the 67th minute off of a David Beckham pass that gave me the chills. But blah blah blah. The story of the night was meeting my new boyfriend Abel Xavier (pictured left). He is a defenseman born in Mozambique and has played for the Portugal national team. With a head of hair like that, how can I resist?

Atlanta Braves defeat LA Dodgers 4-1. Andruw Jones has gotten a warm reception in his former home. Perhaps all that warmth helped him hit that solo homer in the second inning yesterday. But that's all she wrote for the Dodgers. Should we be worried that the Dodgers can't score any runs off of a team whose pitching staff is decimated by injuries? Or should we be worried that Grady Little's lineups are looking good right about now. Beh. It's only April.

LA Angels defeat Seattle Mariners 4-1. For a team whose best two pitchers are still on the DL, the Angels have gotten some good pitching. Ervin Santana came up big for the Halos giving up only one run and three hits in eight innings while striking out eight and walking no batters. It's hard to beat that kind of performance.

Cleveland Gladiators defeat LA Avengers 83-69. Avengers turned the ball over four times and succumbed to the aerial assault from Gladiator's quarterback Raymond Philyaw. They are now 3-5 and fall a game behind division leading San Jose.

UCSB Gauchos defeat USC Trojans 23-2. If you couldn't guess, this is a baseball score. The Trojans' pitching staff gave up 19 hits, 10 walks and hit five batters. The Gauchos batted around three times in the game and posted five runs in the third and seventh innings and seven runs in the sixth. Um, pitching anyone?
