Lakers Say Adijo to Vujacic

The Lakers announced a three-way trade with the New Jersey Nets and Houston Rockets. The components are:

  • The Lakers send the Nets guard Sasha Vujacic and a protected first-round draft pick in 2011.
  • The Lakers get forward Joe Smith, the Golden State Warrior's second-round draft choice in 2011 and the Chicago Bulls' second-round draft choice in 2012 from the Nets.
  • The Lakers also receive the draft rights to Sergei Lishouk from Houston as well as a trade exception.
  • The Nets will also receive a 2012 first-round draft pick from the Rockets in exchange for guard Terrence Williams.

Currently in his 16th season, Smith has played in four games this season where he has averaged 0.5 points per game. His career average is 11 points per game with 6.4 rebounds.
Meanwhile Vujacic who has seen very limited playing time off the bench this season will be reunited with Jordan Farmar in Jersey and continue to take questionable shots while be an overall nuisance on defense in the Eastern Conference.
