In the most dominating fashion, the Lakers dismantled the Denver Nuggets 119-92 in Denver in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. They now head to their 30th NBA Finals and look to atone for their collapse in last year's finals against the Boston Celtics.
The Lakers were buoyed by Luke Walton who came in strong in the third quarter after Trevor Ariza picked up a quick fourth foul to open the frame. Walton scored 10 points and made key passes that helped the Lakers stave off the Nuggets pressure as the Nuggets cut the Lakers 13 point halftime lead to nine. Despite the foul problems, Ariza also came up huge with 17 points, 10 of them in the first quarter alone.
Kobe Bryant meanwhile willed the Lakers to this victory getting 35 points with 10 assists taking exactly 20 shots. Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol rounded out the double-digit scoring the Lakers both getting 20 points.
This victory is huge which allows the Lakers to rest until Thursday. The Lakers have been looking a bit fatigued at the end of games in this series.
And I was right. The Lakers did beat the Nuggets in six. So suck on those nuts.
