The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened to the public at 6:30 a.m. this morning, with fans lining up for hours in their best Hogwarts-inspired costumes.

For the first time in park history, Universal Studios Hollywood had to halt online ticket sales for today, the public opening of 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.'

Early this morning, at about 6:15 a.m., eager guests were asked to raise their wands high—which many of them, naturally, had—to reveal the attraction. Fog filled the entrance and when it dissipated, guests were treated to the sight of wizards and witches going about their daily business in Hogsmeade.
