Perhaps a new companion for Reggie has arrived?
The Eastsider reports that a fake alligator was spotted in Echo Park lake over the weekend, but its stay in park's tranquil waters was cut short. Workers fished (gatored?) it out of the lake on Sunday morning.
The workers told the Eastsider reader who snapped the photo that it was made out of 5-gallon water jugs, and she added, "It also has tennis ball eyes."
No word as to who put the gator in the waters, or why.
Reggie, on the other hand, was a real American alligator who called Harbor City's Machado Lake home for two years. He was eventually captured in 2007 and now lives at the L.A. Zoo. Two men were charged with dumping Reggie in the lake.
