I couldn't wait to rush home and watch my TiVo of the Creative Arts Emmy awards! I would never even have watched those awards if not for the fabulous Kathy Griffin. The only sentence they edited out was, "Suck it Jesus!" I was surprised. As someone who was raised Catholic, I thought they would edit out the last sentence too. To me, "This award is my god now." was way more shocking. As in the first commandment, the very first one. The whole false idol thing? Does the golden calf ring a bell? That one definitely comes before "taking the Lord's name in vain". Of course, it does come before murder too. My point being, I don't see how "suck it" is any worse than the whole false idol thing, at least sin-wise. So maybe three Hail Marys, an Our Father, and we'll call it even?
