The Dodgers announced the coaching staff for the upcoming 2011 season in support of first-year manager Don Mattingly. Returning will be pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, a holdover from the Grady Little days entering his sixth season, bullpen coach Ken Howell entering his fourth season, hitting coach Jeff Pentland entering his fourth season being promoted from hitting instructor and bullpen catchers Rob Flippo and Mike Borzello entering their 10th and fourth seasons respectively.

Returning to the Dodger family is former great Davey Lopes who was part of the longest-tenured infield in Major League history with Steve Garvey, Bill Russell and Ron Cey from 1973-’81. He will be the first base coach reprising his role since 2007 with the Philadelphia Phillies where they won a World Series in 2008 and the National League pennant in 2008 and 2009.

Rounding out the coaching staff is bench coach Trey Hillman who spent the last two seasons guiding the Kansas City Royals to a 152-207 record, hitting instructor Dave Hansen who played 11 seasons with the Dodgers from 1990-’96 and 1999-2002, third base coach Tim Wallach who spent the last two seasons managing the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes and coach Manny Mota who will return for his 32nd season as a Dodger coach.
