CBS Pulls Tornado-Themed Episode of 'Mike & Molly'
A tornado-themed episode of Mike & Molly was pulled by CBS after the devastating tornado that struck the Oklahoma City area.
The episode, titled "The Windy City" was scheduled to air Monday night. Although it does not show any actual damage from a tornado, it does feature the characters waiting for a tornado to hit Chicago, where the show is based, Entertainment Tonight reports.
The synopsis for the unaired episode: "Mike and Carl get stuck working at the Renaissance Faire after their boss, Patrick, gets dumped by Mike's mother. Later, as a tornado descends on Chicago, Mike and Molly confess important news to each other on the third season finale."
"Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight's season finale of Mike & Molly, which has a related storyline," a CBS spokesperson said in a statement yesterday, adding that "The season finale will be broadcast at an appropriate date."
A repeat was aired in its place. The CBS series, which stars Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell was recently renewed for a fourth season.
