Alicia Silverstone has never made a secret of her love for animals. She's vegan, and she has a cookbook, and she once told the world that she chews up and spits out food into her toddler's mouth.

Now, the actress has taken on the cause of down (as in, comforters and pillows), releasing two new videos with PETA in which she describes the horror that is birds getting their feathers plucked out of their skin to make things like the comforter you once adored but will now feel guilty about.

Silverstone says that humans as a race lead a delusional existence when it comes to how we imagine how we retrieve the coats of our fine feathered friends:

"We like to imagine that birds are walking around and their feathers are falling off and we just collect them in a little basket and it would be so lovely."
