The big day is here--municipal election day. Hertzberg, Villaraigosa, and Hahn are the front-runners, as we said a few moons ago. Whether you pick one of those three or the two longshots (Parks and Alarcon) the important thing is to get out and vote. The level of civic engagement in this city is pathetic, and don't let yourself be a part of that disgrace to democracy.

As to who we are endorsing? This LAist had a long discussion with former editor Tom Berman on the subject. He suggests that Antonio Villaraigosa is the best candidate to revitalize civic culture in Los Angeles, which might be right. However, on a policy level, we believe that Bob Hertzberg is the best man to lead the City, and isn't exactly lacking for energy either. If you pick either one of those qualified candidates, the City will be better off for it.
