A woman was killed when a suspected drunk driver crashed his truck into her bedroom Sunday night.

The woman was asleep in her home in the 1000 block of West Avenue J-12 in Lancaster, KTLA reports. At about 10:55 p.m., a Toyota truck smashed into a number of parked cars before crashing into the home and running over the victim while she slept in her bed. Neighbors who rushed outside after hearing the crash said they saw the driver, 25-year-old Aaron Daniel Benson, staggering around outside, seeming panicked and confused.

The woman, who was in her 70s, was found beneath the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors said that she was a sweet woman who lived alone with her cats and enjoyed gardening, according to CBS LA.

Benson has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.
