Prius Driver Dies After Crashing Into Crane In West Hollywood
A man died early this morning after his car slammed into a construction crane parked in West Hollywood.
The crash happened on Sunset Boulevard near Sweetzer Avenue at about 4:16 a.m., authorities told KTLA. The Toyota Prius was headed eastbound when it collided with the mobile crane.
The driver was treated at the scene before being transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he died. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. Sunset Boulevard was shut down until 9 a.m. while the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department investigated.
Update 4/28: The driver has been identified as Brandon Gonzalez, 21, by the coroner's office, according to City News Service. His hometown wasn't known.
