Driver and Passenger Killed After Car Hits Pole in Chatsworth

Two die after car crash in Chatsworth
Two people were killed early this morning after a driver lost control of his car and crashed into a wooden utility pole, according to a statement released by the LAPD. The accident occurred near the intersection of Topanga Canyon Marnilla Street in Chatsworth at around 3:00 a.m. According to the statement, the driver of the 2006 Scion sedan was speeding when he lost control and hit the pole at a bend in the road. The car kept going, hitting several other fixed objects before coming to a stop. CBS News notes that the driver was a 29-year-old male, and his passenger was a 24-year-old female. LAFD responded to a call about the incident, and pronounced both individuals dead at the scene. Their names have not yet been released.
