Thank goodness for the Arizona Diamondbacks! After last night's 5-3 win, completing a Dodgers sweep of Arizona, the Azul moved to 16-3 against the Diamondbacks this season.

Where would the Dodgers be without the Diamondbacks this season?

Well, the Dodgers now have a pseudo-comfortable five game lead over the Giants, which would effectively be nothing if LA were say, 11-8 against Arizona.

That all said, the Arizona Diamondbacks are not making the playoffs, and St. Louis is coming to town tonight. After being swept last weekend, the Dodgers need to take at least two of three in the Cardinals series as a statement heading into the playoffs. This could be a preview of the NLDS, so LAist recommends you head over to Dodger Stadium one day this weekend.
