This one is a little hard to wrap your mind around. A taxi driver transporting two women to the Ramona Gardens housing project in East LA ended up in a situation when he stopped to drop them off. Daily News explains:
According to a preliminary investigation, the women had taken a cab ride to the Ramona Gardens housing project in the city of Los Angeles, where the taxi stopped at a building, [LAPD Sgt. Lee ] Sands said.
Suddenly, a man with a gun accosted the cab driver, who sped off with the women still inside the vehicle, Sands said.
One or both women then stabbed the cabbie, and the vehicle crashed in an unincorporated area of the county in the City Terrace area, Sands said.
Apparently, the man with the gun was the boyfriend of one of the women who "approached the cab, ostensibly to pay the driver, but instead pulled a gun on him,"
according to KNBC. Additionally,
KCBS reported that "one woman began cutting the driver's neck and face with a blade. He then lost control and crashed the cab... the driver was ejected from the vehicle and has been hospitalized in critical condition." The crash happened at the
intersection of Medford and Ditman.
