Lindsay Lohan isn't the only branch on the family tree to be a little bit too familiar with the intricacies of our local law and order operations. Her father, 50-year-old Michael Lohan, was arrested last night in West Hollywood after an altercation with his girlfriend allegedly became violent. The elder Lohan was named as a suspect by the victim for false imprisonment and inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The incident occurred at their West Hollywood apartment on Holloway Avenue. Lohan was arrested while he was on foot, and taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff Station. However, Lohan requested medical attention for an unrelated and previous injury, and was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His bail bail has been set at $200,000 dollars.

Meanwhile, Lohan's girlfriend suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment from Los Angeles County Fire Department Paramedics.

"Lohan is estranged from his famous daughter, but has showed up in court several times, saying he wanted to support Lindsay through her legal woes," notes KTLA. Lindsay Lohan returns to court next month as the trial for her probation violation and the theft of a necklace from a Venice jewelry shop enters its preliminary phase.
