Via the local neighborhood watch group, an 8th street robbery in a recent spate spanning the past week and a half occurred Wednesday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. on Genesee near Clinton in the Melrose corridor area of Hollywood.

"3-4 persons jumped out of a car and mugged two women (not confirmed) walking together possibly with strollers," the watch's website reported. "The robbers stole the victims purses then jumped back into their car and took off. LAPD responded quickly but were unable to apprehend the suspects. They were seen driving a grey colored car possibly a chevy malibu. The vehicle was seen heading eastbound along Melrose Avenue."

The suspects, who have either act individually or as a group of three, are described as African Americans in their 20s, ranging in height from 5’6” to 6’ tall, 150 to 200 pounds, according to an LAPD statement (YouTube news reports below).
