Burglars Hit 4 Homes During Late Afternoon in Melrose Area

At least four homes within the Melrose area have been burglarized this week, the local neighborhood watch, Melrose Action, is reporting. All have occurred in the late afternoon with jewelry being targeted.

On Monday, two homes were struck, one on the 700 block of North Laurel Avenue and another on the 800 block of North Stanley Avenue. On Tuesday, a home on the 700 bock of North Hayworth Avenue followed by another on Wednesday on the the 800 block of North Laurel Avenue.

"In the first two, and most recent cases, the suspectes were described as 20 to 50 year old black men, 5 FT 8 IN to 5 FT to 10In, and 150 - 220 pounds," stated the group's website. "In one case, the men were driving a black older model four door toyota."
