Right now in Studio City three schools are on lockdown and streets are closed to traffic as the Los Angeles Police Department search for murder suspect Luis Solano, Hispanic male in his twenties spotted earlier today by officers from the North Hollywood Division.

Solano was spotted near Carpenter Avenue Elementary school earlier today. He is wanted in connection with a murder, and the LAPD describe him as "very dangerous," according to a live news report on KTLA-TV. The search seems to be concentrated on the area around Laurel Canyon Boulevard south of Ventura Boulevard.

In addition to Carpenter Avenue Elementary, the Country School and Bridges School are on lockdown as a precaution, though authorities are assuring parents that students and staff are all safe. Streets, including Laurel Canyon in the vicinity of Ventura Boulevard are closed to traffic, causing some heavy traffic in the area.

Authorities say that residents and employees in the search area should remain inside with their doors locked, and should not attempt to confront Solano.
