One of the main roadways connecting the Valley and the Westside is partially closed as crews try to clear a mud flow in Studio City.
Coldwater Canyon Avenue between Ventura Boulevard and Avenida Del Sol is closed after a car sheared a piece of water main equipment around 2 a.m., Friday morning, reports ABC 7. The gushing main spewed water and mud onto Coldwater Canyon Avenue, and Officer Aareon Jefferson told LAist that the street is not expected to be reopen until at least 10 a.m., though KNX's Pete Demetriou it is now reporting that it may not reopen until 11 a.m.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the mud got ankle-deep in some areas.
Harvard-Westlake School, whose campus is on the closed stretch of Coldwater Canyon Avenue, is open but all vehicle traffic must enter from the north, according to the Harvard-Westlake Chronicle, the student newspaper.
"We were notified very early in the morning and notified our community through our emergency broadcast system that we have in the school," Ari Engelberg, Harward-Westlake's communications director told LAist.
"There were some delays and the school schedule was pushed back about a half hour, but that's it," Engelberg continued. "Everybody who needed to get to campus got to campus."
The traffic issues have slightly altered the school's scheduling for the day, and have pushed back some AP tests by an hour. While most would appreciate the extra time to cram (come on, you guys had months), junior Megan Cohen told the Chronicle that everything was totally messing her day up:
I really don't think it was necessary to delay APs because the policemen on Coldwater are completely letting Harvard-Westlake kids through first of all, and second of all, if you don't get here on time you can still take the AP next Thursday on the make-up day, so I feel like this is unnecessary and it's actually hurting my schedule because I have a doctor's appointment later, and I'm worried it's going to interfere with that.
