Calm Winds Aid Overnight Effort to Fully Contain Pedley Fire
A small wildfire that broke out yesterday afternoon in Riverside County became a full night's work for 235 firefighters who were able to get the blaze fully contained by 4:30 this morning, according to an AP report.
Tagged the Pedley Fire, the flames eventually covered 500 acres, and at one time posed a threat to homes in Fontana, and "prompted the evacuation of 32 mobile homes at Santiago Estates Mobile Home Park on Quartz Canyon in Glen Avon," according to the Daily Bulletin.
Calm winds helped the firefighters tackle the blaze, and luckily there have been no injuries or damage to structures reported. The cause of the Pedley Fire is under investigation.
