A man stabbed to death on a Hollywood sidewalk, a woman kills her son before killing herself in Highland Park, two shot dead in South LA in separate cases all made for a busy weekend for LAPD officers and detectives. Hollywood, Saturday, 10:50 p.m.: A passerby on Santa Monica Blvd. notice a man lying on the sidewalk and call police. Police arrive to find a victim, still alive and described as a male White, transient, approximately 50-years-old. He's rushed off to the hospital where he died. While police do not know the motive behind the murder, they do believe it is not gang related.

Highland Park, Saturday, 9:30 a.m.: A 43-year-old woman uses a knife to kill her 4-year-old son before taking her own life. After LA Fire Department personnel reported to the scene as a medical emergency and found pronounced two dead under suspicious circumstances, they called police. “It’s a brutal scene in there,” Capt. Bill Murphy said.

South LA , Friday, 5:20 p.m.: A patrol unit from 77th Division was dispatched to the 1000 block of West 60th Street. The radio call was generated in response to a report of a suspicious vehicle with what appeared to be a person sleeping inside. When the officers arrived they found Michael Alexander Allen, a 29-year-old male Black, wrapped in bedding on the passenger seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle and victim were transported to the Coroner’s Office where he was taken out of the car. Victim Michael Alexander Allen had multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. The motive and the description of the suspect or suspects are not known.

Also: A body of a man was found in a foreclosed Westchester home on Saturday, but it is unknown how the man died and was discovered. Police also report that a man who was beaten and shot outside a party in the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw area Friday night. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
