Several people were injured early this morning after a Metro bus collided with a car trying to make a left turn in front of the bus on Venice Boulevard.

The crash happened at the intersection with Spaulding Avenue just before 6:30 am this morning, according to City News Service.

Firefighters had to cut the doors off of the car in order to free the people inside the car, according to KTLA. Two inside the car were rushed to the hospital and three inside the bus had to be hospitalized as well.

Police say that the driver of the car heading eastbound on Venice was trying to take a left turn at the green light. The bus coming from the opposite direction couldn't brake in time to avoid a collision.
