Boutiques, Booze, & Bras: A Big Box Store-Free Black Friday

Before you read more...
Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your tax-deductible financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

There are some people already camping out to get in to early-morning Black Friday sales at major retailers all over the country. Best Buy, Toys-R-Us, Target, and JC Penney are just a few of the "big box" retailers who expect to have throngs of bargain-hungry crowds pound their aisles post-Thanksgiving and carry out big boxes of big purchases.

You don't have to participate in the madness, though. In fact, if you want to do some shopping on Friday, and are up to leaving the cozy confines of hearth and home, here in Los Angeles there are some sweet deals to be snapped up at shops and restaurants where you're likely to avoid the madness, but support smaller local retailers in the process. It's just so much more...civilized this way!

Check out our pics for some unique smaller-scale Black Friday deals and sales.
