Big Rig Fire Means Traffic Nightmare On The 10 Freeway In East L.A.
Traffic is a mess on the 10 Freeway in East Los Angeles today after a big rig caught on fire. The truck went up in flames on the 10 Freeway in City Terrace near Cal State today at about 11 a.m., KTLA reports. All westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway are closed at Eastern Avenue and will be until further notice. All but two eastbound lanes were closed immediately after the fire, but have since been reopened, according to CHP.
CHP also reported lanes backed up to Del Mar Avenue heading east and to the 5 Freeway heading west.
The driver of the big rig was able to get out of the truck unharmed, and the cause of the fire is yet unknown.
