Prop 8 Protests Begin to Thin Out*
After seven straight days of protests, two planned events last night had a comparatively low turnout. At least seven news vans were parked at the Mormon Church on Santa Monica Blvd. last night, but protesters were few and far between. Later in West Hollywood, a planned protest at Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevards had turned out about 50 people, who are seen below.
However, a planned protest at El Coyote tonight and Saturday's nationwide protests are likely to once again bring the large crowds seen last week.
*UPDATE: Apparently, the protest marched far away. A reader e-mails....
Hi Zach, The report about 50 people at the protest for prop 8 at the corner of san vicente and SaMo blvd. is kinda inaccurate. I was there and we actually started marching with police escort at around 7:45-8ish down S.V. to Melrose, then left on Melrose all the way down past Highland. We had about 250-300 people marching and shouting equality slogans on the closed eastbound side of Melrose. I found this clip someone made of it:

Unfortunately it looked liked most news crews showed up at mormon church I guess. Although there were serveral ENG crews and photo-journalists with us too.
